PORQ NO PONEN MUSICA SUAVE??

Lienzo Blanco - White Canvas

¿Y tu?

It is quite interesting what happens when you clean your room. I don't mean just picking up all the clothes from failed outfits on the floor or rearranging the pillows on your bed. I mean, really digging into the closet and opening up notebooks of doodles from 10 years past. Recently that is what happened to me. About 2 months ago I got these huge container for storage so I could de-clutter my closet from so many things. Turns out this past Saturday was finally when I got my hands on getting that job done. If you come into my room, you can breathe SPACE!! (weird right?) Well, as I kept getting things out of my closet I came across several notebooks and papers I had carried with me from previous years. Some where stories I had begun to write, others were just thoughts which had crossed my mind while sitting at the university's campus. I was able to find a diary/journal from 2000 (13 years ago) with big bold letter on the front stating: DO NOT READ UNTIL 2007. How incredibly amazing is that?? Until 2007!!! And we are in 2013. So I began to read several posts and realized that at the age of 12 I already had a vision of who I wanted to become. There was this perspective of life that seemed so pure and genuine as I had written each entry! So much energy, so much hope, so much "white canvas." This is how I saw life at the age of 12. Sitting among 2 containers full of books and papers going into storage and surrounded by all the diaries I had written in made me realize I had lost that "white canvass" perspective. Life really is what you make of it. You can either have be all dark and grey...or you can paint it with beautiful colors that will have the generations to come stand in awe. As for me, I want that colorful picture that will bring joy and hope to those who see it. What about you?

BDN - PARTIES

Oh brother!!
In all my years, I've never had to worry about back door neighbors (BDN)...until I moved to my current home. Even growing up in Honduras, we just had a HUGE back yard and then no more houses. It was just "fields of green" as far as the eye could see, and mind you, this was in the capital, Tegucigalpa.

When we moved here to the States, the first couple of years we just had a water canal as our BDN. So still, no worries. So we "upgraded" on the house and now we have bdnSSSSS!!! It was quite weird at first, no joke!! I felt like they could look into my window from their homes, or see our kitchen as if they were inside. It took a little adjusting but we managed. But then...all us kids grew up. And needless to say, all 3 bdn's kids are PARTY ANIMALS!! I say "kids" but who am I kidding, we're all in our mid-to-late 20s.

So, how to survive it? Here are a few things I found:

1. Write about it either in a journal, blog, or any paper (as I am doing now)This will help you gather your thoughts in case you are planning on speaking with anyone.

2. Play some very relaxing music throughout the house, specially outside, so as to block out their party music. You see, when you put speaker facing speaker, the sounds they emit cancel each other out. So Voila!! (I had it inside my room it was quite nice)

3. Get sound proof ear muffs (could be dangerous though cuz what if an emergency arises at YOUR home??)

4. Politely speak with neighbor about music volume and if he/she/they don't comply or there's no agreement, you can bring it up to your neighbor's association meeting. (Idk when my neighbor's association's meetings are ;p)

Here's hoping to all who need a full night's rest are able to get it!!
*Cheers* ::clink, clink::

NOTE: Picture is not of actual neighbors.

Happy 2012 Leap Day!!!

That's right, this year we get an extra day on February 29th, aka, TODAY!! Some say that whatever you do today does not count, others say that wearing blue and yellow is an expression of good fortune for the rest of the year. But do you really know why we have an extra day every four years?? Well, I've found a cool video which shows us exactly why this happens. ENJOY!!!

P.S. w/e you didn't get done yesterday, take this as ur extra day to get things done...or just a vacay day. However you decide to use it, make sure to enjoy it cuz the next one will be 4 years from today.

XOXO

Temple in HND

Alrighty, its been a long time coming. Back in December 2010, we had our first service at the new temple in Honduras. Now, on January 29th, 2012, we will have our first service there but as our new home. All things have bn moved and from now on the services will be held at the new temple. Its been a long road with many ups and downs, curves and speed bumps, but God has been faithful and we are now able to enjoy the place which God has granted us.

Bright Holiday Skin

So I know we all want to look glamorous for the holidays. Here is a recipe which I have tried and works wonders with the skin. All you need is: Baking Soda, Water, Spoon, Container, 5 minutes. Here is how you do it:

Mix 3 TBSP (table spoons) of baking soda and mix with 1 TBSP of water. Apply to face in circular motion and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and VOILA, bright beautiful skin is your result. Make sure to always apply appropriate moisturizer for your skin. As you rinse off, do it gently because the baking soda will also work as microdermabrasion. If you do it too hard, you could scratch your face instead of help it glow. Do this once a week and you'll never suffer from a dull complexion again.

Have fun ;)
