BDN - PARTIES

Oh brother!!
In all my years, I've never had to worry about back door neighbors (BDN)...until I moved to my current home. Even growing up in Honduras, we just had a HUGE back yard and then no more houses. It was just "fields of green" as far as the eye could see, and mind you, this was in the capital, Tegucigalpa.

When we moved here to the States, the first couple of years we just had a water canal as our BDN. So still, no worries. So we "upgraded" on the house and now we have bdnSSSSS!!! It was quite weird at first, no joke!! I felt like they could look into my window from their homes, or see our kitchen as if they were inside. It took a little adjusting but we managed. But then...all us kids grew up. And needless to say, all 3 bdn's kids are PARTY ANIMALS!! I say "kids" but who am I kidding, we're all in our mid-to-late 20s.

So, how to survive it? Here are a few things I found:

1. Write about it either in a journal, blog, or any paper (as I am doing now)This will help you gather your thoughts in case you are planning on speaking with anyone.

2. Play some very relaxing music throughout the house, specially outside, so as to block out their party music. You see, when you put speaker facing speaker, the sounds they emit cancel each other out. So Voila!! (I had it inside my room it was quite nice)

3. Get sound proof ear muffs (could be dangerous though cuz what if an emergency arises at YOUR home??)

4. Politely speak with neighbor about music volume and if he/she/they don't comply or there's no agreement, you can bring it up to your neighbor's association meeting. (Idk when my neighbor's association's meetings are ;p)

Here's hoping to all who need a full night's rest are able to get it!!
*Cheers* ::clink, clink::

NOTE: Picture is not of actual neighbors.
